Beverages for three long-duration Skylab missions were stowed aboard the space station, some of them in lockers in the galley-wardroom, and some of them in the "attic" storage area of the workshop until they were needed. This container holds collapsed plastic containers of hydratable beverages, including apple drink, orange drink, cocoa, and coffee. The tube kept the containers from floating about in weightlessness. Storage lockers loaded with these containers served as a pantry. These beverages and storage equipment were used for training before the 1973-1974 Skylab missions.

Whirlpool Corporation, maker of the beverages and packaging, donated this item to the Museum in 1974. Museum curators assembled the drinks and containers from the Museum's backup Skylab Workshop in the 1980s.
