"Wilbur Wright during Hudson-Fulton Celebration, New York Oct. 1909." Distant one-half right front view of Wright Type A, piloted by Wilbur Wright, in flight over the steam yacht "Viking" (owned by New York banker George F. Baker, Jr.) in New York Harbor during the Hudson-Fulton Celebration, New York City, October 4, 1909. The biplane has been fitted with a canoe affixed to the underside to provide emergency flotation. Other ships, including a large ferry at left, can been dimly seen in background.
