John Henry Mears (holding his dog Tailwind) and Charles B. D. Collyer are clocked out of New York by A. Shorry on the morning of June 29, 1928 to begin an around the world trip taken in part in a Fairchild FC-2 named 'City of New York.' Tailwind accompanied the pair on their journey.
