Aircraft parked before a race start at the National Air Races, Cleveland, Ohio. Left, a Bell P-63C Kingcobra (r/n N63231, race number 30). Right, the North American P-51C Mustang (r/n 4845N, race number 7) "Beguine", owned by Jacqueline "Jackie" Cochran and flown by William Odom. Photograph may show the start of the 1949 Sohio race, or the 1949 Thompson race during which Odum crashed fatally.
