This is a United States Navy Mark IV pressure suit glove. The Navy contracted with the B. F. Goodrich Company (BFG) to make these high-altitude aviation suits during the 1950s. The full-pressure suit allowed American pilots to fly at extremely high altitudes. When NASA began to develop their human spaceflight program, Mercury, they adapted these suits for use in spacecraft.

NASA transferred this pressure glove to the Museum in 1970.
