Lens, 180mm F/2.8A, Zoom, Nikon, Shuttle

Display Status:

This object is on display in the Moving Beyond Earth exhibition at the National Air and Space Museum in Washington, DC.

Collection Item Summary:

This Nikon zoom lens was used on space shuttle missions in the early 1990s with a Hasselblad camera, one of the most commonly used cameras in the space program. Lenses of this size are typically used for intermediate distance photography such as wider views of Earth's surface as they appear outside the spacecraft windows.

NASA transferred this lens to the Museum in 2008 when it was no longer needed for spaceflight.
