"The flying machine with the side wings removed." One-half right rear view of Hiram Maxim's Flying Machine test rig mounted on its track at Maxim's home at Baldwyn¡s Park, Bexley, Kent, England; 1894. The machine is seen here with its long side wing panels removed from the upper and lower surfaces. A large number of visitors are seen standing around or sitting on the machine. Maxim (with white beard) can be seen among those standing on the machine.
