Map from flight notebook used by astronaut John Glenn on flight of Mercury "Friendship 7" on February 20, 1962; Mercury Orbital Chart MOC-3 published by USAF (December 1961), world chart with printed orbital routes, plus grease pencil and marker annotations noting the latest information available immediately prior to the flight. "Map 3" shows eastern Africa, southern Asia, the Indian Ocean, and Western Australia.
