View of Matilde J. Moisant, looking over her shoulder towards the camera, sitting in the cockpit of Blériot XI type monoplane, which in seen in one-quarter right rear view. Barograph was mounted for her attempt at the Wanamaker Trophy awarded for altitude flights. She flew to a height of 1200 feet on September 24, 1911 at Nassau Boulevard Airport, Garden City, Long Island, NY.
