Physical Description
Circular miniature painting on ivory of a balloon aloft over a bridge. Probably a depiction of the first Montgolfier free flight of November 21, 1783. Spectators are watching the balloon from the bridge and the banks of the river. Painting is in a hinged tortoiseshell case, which is edged in silver.
