Round face instrument with compass divided into 360 degrees on face. Instrument body and base is brown textured finish, the face is black with white numbers and letters. Directional arrow appears frozen in horizontal position. Upward pointing heading marker fixed on instrument face. Compass on outer ring of face can be rotated by a VAR. knob on lower right corner of face. There are two light bulbs on the top and bottom of the face behind two small black threaded covers. Behind the face on the upper side are two threaded cable drive connectors, one is open and one has a threaded cover in place. On the left side, midway and behind the face is an externally threaded electrical connector with one male probe and a keyway. The base has four mounting holes, one in each corner and is held to the unit by four slotted screws. Between the base and the instrument there is a small allen wrench held in a molded clip. In a small bag attached to the VAR. knob is a small electrical component with a mounting bracket and three male connectors. The small electrical component has "BENDIX RADIO A 100199-1 printed on it with the number "58" printed below in two places.
