A single, solid block of wood which slopes up to a point, then begins a shorter, downward slant. This construction allows thin pieces of wood used for ribbing experimental aerodromes to be shaped to contour wing design. With this block are smaller pieces of thin wood which have been secured since Langley's time to the block.
