Collection Item Summary:

Aerial view of the Sikorsky Aviation Corporation's Bridgeport Plant, located by the Housatonic River at Stratford, Connecticut. An attached caption states that the plant has an area of 125,000 square feet, and will be able to produce one Sikorsky S-38 Amphibion a day. The Administration Building is in the foreground; the Service Department Building is in the rear. A ramp for launching amphibious aircraft extends into the river. An S-38 in flight (possibly composited into the photograph) can be seen, and two other aircraft are parked near the shoreline.
