Collection Item Summary:

Aviator's certificate (pilot license) no. 774 issued by the Aero Club of America, member of the Federation Aeronautique Internationale (FAI), to Paul R. Stockton (born 3 May 1880); dated 11 July 1917. Features a three-quarter length portrait photo of Stockton standing in a double-breasted leather flying coat. Affixed to inside back cover is a document dated July 9, 1917, certifying that "P. R. Stockton, Sgt., 1st [Div.], N.G.N.Y. [New York National Guard] has completed the flying tests at this School [North Island, San Diego, California], prescribed for Junior Military Aviators in the Army."
