Hand-colored engraving of a satirical drawing of the pope riding in a balloon over a crowd. The pope is throwing treasures and pamphlets from the balloon. Air coming out of the side of the balloon is labeled 'promises.' Quotes from Virgil's 'Georgics' and Milton's 'Paradise Lost' included below the image.
