Toy, Mini Pinball, Spaceship to the Moon

Display Status:

This object is not on display at the National Air and Space Museum. It is either on loan or in storage.

Collection Item Summary:

This "Space Ship to the Moon" mini pinball toy by Baby World challenged players to move the three small metal balls into the holes in the cardboard backing. The challenge was in getting all three balls into the Moon holes without falling prey to "Meteors Danger" or becoming "Lost in Space." These kinds of low-cost entertainments were another way that the fascination with flying to the Moon found expression in popular culture. Notice the science fiction-styled rocket depicted at the base of the game board.

Collector Michael O'Harro donated this game to the Museum in 1993.
