Physical Description

  • Three balloon paper stamps or seals adhered to a paper backing. The images on the stamps are hand-colored etchings. The images and coloring on the stamps are all very similar, but the text is different.
  • Top stamp: balloon is labeled 'GODFREY,' text around the edge says 'Pewter Toy Maker / Artillery Lane Bishopsgate.'
  • Lower stamps: balloon is labeled 'Sparrow,' text around the edge says 'Nails and Sauce / Bishopsgate.' Sparrow stamps are attached to each other.
