Collection Item Summary:

An unidentified member of the 1898-1899 Wellman Polar Expedition stands between two canvas-roofed wooden huts used by the Frederick Jackson expedition (189497), Cape Flora, Northbrook Island, Franz Josef Land (Zemlya Frantsa-Iosifa). The Wellman team used material from the huts to build their own headquarters, dubbed "Harmsworth House", at Cape Tegetthoff (Mys Tegetkhoff), Hall Island (Ostrov Gallya).
