Collection Item Summary:

Members of the 1898-1899 Wellman Polar Expedition stand by "Jackson's House", Cape Flora, Northbrook Island, Franz Josef Land (Zemlya Frantsa-Iosifa). The hut belonged to Frederick Jackson¡s expedition (189497); Wellman used material from Jackson's base to build his own headquarters at Cape Tegetthoff (Mys Tegetkhoff), Hall Island (Ostrov Gallya). Wellman is standing at the right of the group.
