Wright W94 Turbosupercharger

Manufactured about 1943, this Wright W94 turbosupercharger was used on the Wright R-1820-62 engine. It could supply air to an engine of 895 kw (1,200 bhp) at 22,000 rpm at 7.6 km (25,000 ft.). It consisted of a single-stage centrifugal-flow compressor inlet and single-stage axial-flow turbine exhaust. A waste gate controlled the amount of exhaust gas entering the turbine, thereby controlling the turbine speed and compressor output.
