Learn how to give your students an unforgettable experience at the Museum
Local DC, Maryland, and Virginia middle school educators: You are invited to join the National Air and Space Museum's education team for professional development workshops focused on preparing you and your students for an inspiring, educational, and unforgettable field trip to the Museum. Participants will learn about, and customize, various components of our facilitated field trip program developed to address Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). Field trips to the museum are grounded in the most unique collection of air and space artifacts in one of the world's most visited museums, right here in our nation's capital, and your backyard.
See what a field trip to the National Air and Space Museum is all about in a fun 360 video (the video is best enjoyed using a VR-equipped viewer).
You are invited to attend one or both of the workshops:
Day 1: Earth Science standards
Day 2: Life Science and Physical Science standards
Each day will begin with a private tour of the museum and culminate with an opportunity for teachers to collaborate with our world-class curators and museum educators. Your successful completion of our Field Trip Workshop will allow your students to have priority scheduling during the school year.
Additional priority granted for DC Public Schools and Title 1 schools thanks to the Holt Scholars Program and the Haas Astronomy Education Program.
Registration for this event is now open. Seats are limited, sign up now! Questions about this workshop or field trips? Email NASMteachers@si.edu.
