Learn how to give your students an unforgettable experience at the Museum

Local DC, Maryland, and Virginia middle school educators: You are invited to join the National Air and Space Museum's education team for professional development workshops focused on preparing you and your students for an inspiring, educational, and unforgettable field trip to the Museum. Participants will learn about, and customize, various components of our facilitated field trip program developed to address Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). Field trips to the museum are grounded in the most unique collection of air and space artifacts in one of the world's most visited museums, right here in our nation's capital, and in your school's backyard.

Registration includes:

  • private tour of the museum before opening to the general public
  • free preview of planetarium show or IMAX mission film
  • details of facilitated activities and gallery guide components of a field trip
  • opportunity for teachers to collaborate with our world-class museum educators
  • breakfast and lunch

Your successful completion of our Field Trip Workshop will allow your students to have priority scheduling during the 2019-2020 school year, and a modest shopping spree for classroom supplies in our Museum store.

Registration for this event is now open. Seats are limited, sign up now! Questions about this workshop or field trips? Email NASMteachers@si.edu.

This program and future field trips are brought to you by the Holt Scholars, Astronomy Education, and Hilton Middle School Programs.
