70th Anniversaries of the V-2

September 10, 2014 | 12:00pm - 12:15pm
Museum in Washington, DC

The German V-2 was the world's first ballistic missile, and the ancestor of today's large rockets and launch vehicles. Join senior curator Michael Neufeld as he discusses the 70th anniversary of its first attacks on London and Paris, the V-2 campaign, and the rocket's assembly by concentration-camp labor.

Meet at the Museum's "Great Seal," in front of the Welcome Center, in the Boeing Milestones of Flight Hall on the first floor.

About the Ask an Expert lecture series: Every Wednesday at noon in the National Mall Building, a Museum staff member talks to the public about the history, collection, or personalities related to a specific artifact or exhibition in the Museum.
