On October 24, 2014, Alan Eustace wore a stratospheric exploration suit that was attached  to a Balloon Equipment Module that lifted him to an altitude of 41,419 meters (135,890 feet).  He then parachuted back to Earth.  This flight made him the record holder for reaching altitude via balloon and skydiving back. It took two hours and seven minutes to ascend and 14 minutes and 19 seconds to reach Earth.  The National Air and Space Museum has recently acquired this record-setting equipment and will place it on display at the Udvar-Hazy Center in December.  Please join curator Cathleen Lewis to learn about the Alan Eustace's StratEx stratospheric suit.
