The National Air and Space Museum and the National Museum of African Art are collaborating on Views of Africa, an exhibition opening at the National Air and Space Museum on August 15. In conjunction with the Earth Matters exhibition at the National Museum of African Art, Views of Africa will include examples of satellite imagery showing the lands of Africa, paired with a new work of sculptural art inspired by human connections to the land. South African artist Jeremy Wafer is producing the sculptural art for display in this exhibition, titled Core. On August 8, Wafer will be installing his work during public hours. He will be available to answer questions intermittently as he works. Visitors are welcome to watch the installation process and see this exciting new exhibition come together.
This event will take place at the west end of the museum, in gallery 104.
