Moongaze with us on International Observe the Moon Night. Join us at the Phoebe Waterman Haas Public Observatory located at the Museum in DC. Our staff will be there to help you use our telescopes and answer your questions about the Moon, planets, stars, and more.

  • Stargazing is free and open to the public. No tickets are required.
  • The event is weather permitting. See the Welcome Center or call 202.633.2517 for updates.
  • The Observatory is accessible via ramps or steps.


All visitors ages 2 and over are required to wear face coverings inside the Observatory, regardless of vaccination status.
