Cancelled due to clouds.

Use our telescopes to view the Moon, as part of International Observe the Moon Night. We may also have telescopes pointed at other interesting things in the night sky. Knowledgeable staff will be present to answer questions and guide observing.

There will also be telescopes available for Moongazing at the Museum's Washington, D.C. location at the same time as this event.

This stargazing event will be held if weather conditions permit. For weather and closure updates, check @SIObservatory, call 202.633.2517 the day of the event, or look for telescopes outside when you arrive at the Museum.

Join us for other observing programs, and sign up for the Observatory newsletter (select Public Observatory News) to get notified about upcoming special events!

Accessibility: The area outside the Museum entrance is accessible via ramp or steps. Written and touchable explanatory materials are available.
