The beginning of December marks two anniversaries of NASA's exploration of Jupiter. Join Center for Earth and Planetary Studies geologist Jim Zimbelman to celebrate the 41st anniversary of Pioneer 10, the first spacecraft to visit Jupiter (December 3, 1973) and the 40th anniversary of the Pioneer 11 fly-by of Jupiter (December 2, 1974). This is a two-for-one opportunity to remember the first spacecraft exploration beyond Mars.

Meet at the Museum "Great Seal", in the Boeing Milestones of Flight Hall on the first floor.

About the Ask an Expert lecture series: Every Wednesday at noon in the National Mall Building, a Museum staff member talks to the public about the history, collection, or personalities related to a specific artifact or exhibition in the Museum.
