Planetary Neighbors in 3D

October 1, 2014 | 12:00pm - 12:15pm
Museum in Washington, DC

3D views of the surfaces of Mercury, Venus, Earth, the Moon, and Mars are possible now with the ‘Magic Planet' projectors the Museum recently acquired. Join Planetary Geophysicist Michelle Selvans as she compares the impact records, volcanic history, and tectonic activity on inner solar system bodies and explains their similarities and unique aspects from formation through to today.

Meet at the Museum's "Great Seal," in front of the Welcome Center, in the Boeing Milestones of Flight Hall on the first floor.

About the Ask an Expert lecture series: Every Wednesday at noon in the National Mall Building, a Museum staff member talks to the public about the history, collection, or personalities related to a specific artifact or exhibition in the Museum.
