The Ask An Expert lecture series at the National Mall building is presented every Wednesday at noon. A Museum staff member talks to the public about the history, collection, or personalities related to a specific artifact or exhibition in the Museum. Although not the most powerful rocket engine ever flown, the Space Shuttle Main Engine (SSME) burned fuel more efficiently than many of its predecessors. Unlike all of NASA's liquid fuel rocket engines, the SSME was reusable.  How to attend
