In this centennial year of Halley’s 1910 passage, Dr. DeVorkin will compare the Stardust capsule and the Comet Catcher on display at the Museum.

The Ask An Expert lecture series at the National Mall building is presented every Wednesday at noon. A Museum staff member talks to the public about the history, collection, or personalities related to a specific artifact or exhibition in the Museum.

After a 3 billion-mile journey to rendezvous with a comet, the Stardust return capsule joined the national collection of flight icons Oct. 1, 2008, the 50th anniversary of NASA. The capsule is displayed in Exploring the Planets at the Museum in Washington, DC.
