Official Rules: By submitting an entry to the Geography from Space contest you agree to the following:
The Geography From Space contest is open to legal residents of the U.S. over the age of 13. Void in Puerto Rico and wherever prohibited or restricted by law. Trustees, employees, officers, and volunteers of the Smithsonian Institution and their immediate families are not eligible to enter. (After the contest has concluded, anyone may play the Geography From Space online quiz).
How to Enter:
Participants may enter the contest once. Only the first entry received will be entered into the contest. Multiple entries will be disqualified. Entries will be accepted on Tuesday November 15, 2016 from 07:00:00 am until 11:59:59 pm Eastern Time.
The National Air and Space Museum assumes no responsibility for any internet access or technical problems that may affect a participant's ability to enter the contest. All entries must be submitted through the online quiz entry form that is accessed by starting the contest at http://airandspace.si.edu/explore-and-learn/geography-from-space/. Forms with incomplete or inaccurate contact information will be ineligible for the prize. Entries sent via regular e-mail to the National Air and Space Museum Webmaster will be ineligible for the prize. The Smithsonian reserves the right to extend play time or modify contest rules at any time for any reason.
Selection of Winners:
A panel of Smithsonian staff will judge the entries and award prizes to what it determines to be the first three eligible entries received with all 8 answers correct. Winners will be notified at the e-mail address provided and asked to verify eligibility and mailing addresses within five business days; failure to do so means the winner forfeits and another winner may be chosen. Decisions of the Smithsonian are final.
The Smithsonian will award three prizes, each is Smithsonian book "Time and Navigation". Estimated value $29.95. One prize per person. Winners may not request prize subsitution.
The prize will be mailed to the winners using the address given in the online entry form. Winners are responsible for all taxes, if any, on the prize.
By accepting prize, winners consent to use of name and or likeness by the Smithsonian for promotional purposes without further consideration, except where prohibited by law. The winners' names will be posted at http://airandspace.si.edu/geographyfromspace/ by December 15, 2016 .
All entrants hold the Smithsonian, its regents, officers, employees, fellows, interns, research associates, and volunteers harmless from and against all claims of any nature arising in connection with entrant's participation in the contest, acceptance or use of prize. The Smithsonian and its regents, officers, employees, fellows, interns, research associates, and volunteers are not liable for any costs, damages, injuries, or other claims incurred as a result of entrants' participation in the contest or winner’s acceptance and usage of the prize. The Smithsonian reserves the right to disqualify any entrant whose entry or conduct appears in any way to: inhibit the enjoyment of others; tamper with the competition; violate these Rules; infringe on the rights of third parties; or act in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. The Smithsonian reserves the right to cancel the contest or modify these rules at any time for any reason at its discretion. In the event of a dispute regarding a winner, the Smithsonian reserves the right to award or not award a prize. Decisions of the Smithsonian are final and binding.
