Belly Panel After Cleaning

This image shows the proper right large belly panel of the Horten Ho 229 V3 after conservation treatment. To clean this section of the aircraft an aqueous solutions of Triton X-100 non-ionic surfactant in combination with low abrasion (white) scotch-brite pads were used. Microscopic analysis of the painted surfaces following light abrasive cleaning indicated no visible damage to the surface coatings.
