Women and minorities remain underrepresented in science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM) fields. Through our unique camp, we hope to change that by engaging and empowering our campers to seek out and succeed in STEAM fields.
The Holt Scholars Program focuses on providing a field trip experience to the museum for all 6th grade DCPS Earth Science students as part of the Smithsonian’s DC Metro Initiative. Field trips for other grades and subjects are also available on a limited basis.

My Flight, My Space is designed to make discovery learning on the Air & Space Museum website accessible to all. The portal allows users to customize their learning journey—including the level, length, and topic of resources suggested—and supports independent exploration with a system of rewards for completing lessons and meeting learning goals. The platform was designed, specifically, with the learning styles of learners with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD).
The Teacher Innovator Institute is a professional learning community of middle school STEAM teachers focused on incorporating museum content into classroom learning, including an onsite intensive in DC for two weeks each summer.
