Chesley Bonestell - Mars
Chesley Bonestell painted this image for the 1956 Mars book von Braun wrote with Willy Ley. It depicts the smaller version of his Mars expedition, with one “landing boat.” The Museum owns this painting, which is currently in the Moving Beyond Earth exhibition at the Museum in DC.
