Yuri Gagarin wore this orange pressure suit during training for his 1961 flight, when he became the first man in space. John Glenn wore the silver spacesuit during his 1962 flight, when he became the first American to orbit the Earth. Both suit designs were adapted from high-altitude pressure suits.
