Mars Hoax (Mars Spectacular)
In 2003, an email hoax began circulating about the opposition of Mars. Some versions of the email, referred to as the "Mars Spectacular" are in the form of a PowerPoint presentation. This particular (and completely untrue) slide has evolved from a misleading statement claiming that Mars will appear as large as the full Moon through a modest telescope.
