Maggie Bearden joined the Museum as an objects conservator in 2019. She holds a B.A. with majors in Art Conservation and Art History from the University of Delaware, and a M.S. in Objects Conservation with a minor in Textile Conservation from the Winterthur/University of Delaware Program in Art Conservation. She has previously worked on conservation projects with focuses ranging from fine arts to ethnographic at institutions including the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, Winterthur Museum, the National Museum of the American Indian, the American Museum of Natural History, and Harvard’s Peabody Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology. As a member of the Transformation Team she collaborates with curators, conservators, and exhibits and restoration specialists to prepare aeronautic and space artifacts for display in the Museum’s new galleries.
