Pershing II

The U.S. Army’s mobile Pershing II intermediate range ballistic missile carried a single, variable-yield nuclear warhead with an explosive force equivalent to 5–50 kilotons (5,000–50,000 tons) of TNT. Pershing IIs were deployed at U.S. bases in West Germany beginning in 1983 and aimed at targets in the western Soviet Union. This training version is the same size and weight as an operational missile.

The Pershing II and SS-20 were regarded as the most threatening missiles in their class, and were banned by the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty in December 1987.
