Donald W. Bean served as a B-17 squadron leader in the mighty 8th Air Force’s 384th Bombardment Group based at Grafton/Underwood England in WW II. After successful completion of his tour of duty, Donald flew for American Overseas Airlines out of New York.
Not only my father, he became a mentor for my own career in aviation. Our time spent in the air brought us closer together than during any other tines of our lives.
