    J. Ronald Weber graduated from Lehigh University in 1956 with a degree in Industrial Engineering. As an ROTC student, he received a two-year assignment in Germany after graduation. A Corps of Engineer Officer, his responsibilities included supervising the construction of floating bridges across various rivers in Germany including the Rhine. Returning stateside, he commenced his civilian career working for Verizon Communications for forty years, handling their largest customer before retiring in 1991. Mr. Weber’s Smithsonian activities include over one thousand hours as a visitor services volunteer at the National Air and Space Museum Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center in Chantilly, Virginia.
