    Joe Weber was in the U.S. Air Force (USAF) /Strategic Air Command (SAC) with the B-36 and B-52. His duty as a B-36 crew chief and back-up second engineer lasted from 1956-1962. Upon separation from the USAF he went into commercial aviation with both domestic and international airlines.

    Joe also was a member of the Aviation/Space Writers Association and wrote a monthly column for airline and aviation publications. He also wrote for Golden West Airlines In-Flight Magazine and Arizona Skyways. He is a member of the 7th Bomb Wing B-36 Association, B-52 Stratofortress Association, World Airline Historical Society, American Aviation Historical Society, Society of SAC, and Air Force Association.

    He also belongs to the Delta Airlines Heritage Museum and American Airlines C.R. Smith Museum. He has a memory brick at the AAL Flagship "Knoxville" Museum hangar. He has most recently had a story published in the American Aviation Historical Society Journal. He also contributes to the monthly newsletter of the Continental Airlines Retired Employees Association. Joe enjoys researching and writing airline histories. He has completed (as yet unpublished) an airline novel.
