    Commissioned in 1955 through the NROTC program at UCLA. Designated a Naval Aviator in December, 1956. Retired from active service 10 October, 1989
    Served with fleet attack squadrons VA-63, VA-22, VA-93, VA-152, VA-165, fleet replacement Squadrons VA-125 and VA-126 and carrier air wing nine (CVW-9).
    Commanded VA-165, CVW-9, NAS Whidbey Island, Medium Attack, Tactical Electronic Warfare Wing, Pacific.
    Made nine carrier deployments to Western Pacific (five in combat), accumulated over 5000 accident free flight hours, flying F9F-8, FJ-4B, A-4, A-6, A-7, F-4, EA6B and F-18 Aircraft. Flew 447 combat missions in Vietnam flying A-4 and A-6 aircraft. Served four tours on the Navy Staff and one tour on the Joint Staff all in the Pentagon.

    Since Navy retirement have worked as a defense consultant. Married, two children, three grandsons.
