Ms. Peggy J. Wegwart
Born April 14, 1925 in Terre Haute, IN, raised in W. Virginia and served as a Methodist minister over 50 years in NC. As a child had dreams of flying; he made several model planes, some having a five-foot wing span.
Entered West Virginia University (WVU) in 1942 to study aeronautical engineering, but in the World War II (WWII) fever to serve, left with two frat buddies in Sigma Nu to join the U.S. Air Corps. Passed mental test but found eyesight not 20-20. Disappointed, joined U.S. Naval Reserve (USNR) and served on an aircraft carrier in the Pacific.
Along the way without adequate funds did not get a pilot's license, but permitted to take the controls a few times. An avid airline traveler.
