Apollo 17 was the last time humans have stepped foot on the Moon — so far! Among the astronauts was geologist Harrison Schmitt, the only scientist thus far to visit the lunar surface. In honor of the mission's 50th anniversary, this episode of STEM in 30 will look at the science, legacy, and technologies that culminated in this final Apollo mission and how these Moon missions laid the groundwork for future lunar missions.
The episode of our educational webcast series STEM in 30 will premiere on the National Air and Space Museum YouTube channel on December 8, 2022.
