Inside the Museum

No tickets required for activities inside the Museum

Enjoy hands-on activities for learners of all ages focusing on how people in America supported the war effort.

Activities include: 

  • Story times and puppet shows that explore World War II history
  • Meeting re-enactors telling the story of the Women Airforce Service Pilots and the Women's Army Corps
  • Swing dance lessons with a live band. Beginner lesson at 12:30 - 1:00 pm, Band from 1:00 - 3:00 pm.
  • Plan a victory garden
  • Practice Morse code and decode secret messages
  • Talk to experts from the National Air and Space Museum, as well as other Smithsonian groups, the National Park Service, and other museums. 

Outside the Museum

Tickets required - Sold Out

See over 50 unique aircraft, including historic World War II aircraft. Talk with pilots of historic and modern aircraft, on display outside the Museum for one day only.
