Obtaining Permission to Publish National Air and Space Museum Photographs

Materials from the collection of the National Air and Space Museum or from National Air and Space Museum's web site are subject to Smithsonian Institution, National Air and Space Museum, Copyright and Image Use Restrictions.

Usage requires prior written permission from the Museum. Should you wish to use National Air and Space Museum still images, drawings, film, audio or other materials in any medium, please request Permission by printing, completing and signing the application form linked below and submitting it to the following address:

Before submitting an application, please check that all fields (such as print run and signature) are complete. Please identify materials by Smithsonian Institution negative number or other identifying number; if identifying numbers are not known, please send photocopies of the materials (with information on where they are credited to National Air and Space Museum) with your application. Include your email address and telephone and fax numbers, as well; we will contact you shortly with the status of your request.

Usage fees, when applicable, may be paid with checks in US dollars drawn on a US bank, money orders, MasterCard or Visa.
