STS-45 was the forty-sixth mission, launching on March 24 and landing April 2, 1992 using Space Shuttle Atlantis; the shuttle carried the first Atmospheric Laboratory for Applications and Science for experiments in atmospheric chemistry, solar radiation, space plasma physics, and ultraviolet astronomy.
