The Aluminum Association, based in Arlington, Virginia, is the trade association for the aluminum production, fabrication and recycling industries, and their suppliers. One of their duties is to provide and publish designations and product standards describing the composition, mechanical properties and nomenclature of aluminum alloys in the United States.

This collection consists of a six by nine inch pamphlet issued by the Aluminum Association in 1954, entitled, "The Aluminum Association Alloy Designation System for Wrought Aluminum." The pamphlet, which is annotated, is in a folio with a metal Aluminum Association 80th anniversary insignia on the cover.
