Edwin M. Janeczek was in the 23rd Mobile Reclamation and Repair Squadron, attached to the 9th Air Force. Janeczek was responsible for the maintenance of the United States Army Air Forces' Piper L-4 and L-5 Grasshoppers used as liaison aircraft during the Ardennes Campaign / Battle of the Bulge.

This collection consists of ninety-nine black and white prints (with 32 corresponding negatives), most of Piper L-4 and L-5 Grasshoppers, but also including shots of Martin (Glenn L.) B-26 Marauder (Model 179). This collection also contains Janeczek's Maintenance Inspection Record and related documentation for his work on Boeing B-17Gs, and the July 15, 1942 technical manual, "Aircraft Induction, Fuel and Oil Systems, TM 1-407."
